New Hainan Client, Nanhai Net February 3 news (Reporter Wang Xiaochang) On the morning of February 3, Huang Jinshi, a bus driver who participated in the "Charity Hainan Media Beauty and Co-existence" love New Year’s Eve event, took the couplets he wanted from the calligraphy teacher, found an open space and carefully placed them, waiting for the ink to dry up.

"This is my fifth Spring Festival in Hainan, but it is the second time to post couplets." Master Huang is a native of Liaoning. In 2019, in order to give his sick mother a better convalescent environment, he and his wife resolutely decided to move their family to Hainan. In that year, he became a bus driver, and his wife took care of her mother and found a job in an old-age care institution. "When we spent the first Spring Festival in Hainan, although we rented a house, we also posted a pair of couplets to celebrate."

But things didn’t work out. More than three years ago, after Master Huang’s mother died, their family hadn’t posted couplets for three years, so this year’s Spring Festival became the second time he posted couplets after he settled in Hainan.

"The house we are renting now has front and back doors, so we asked the calligraphy teachers for two pairs." Master Huang looked at the couplet and said with satisfaction. For the upcoming Spring Festival holiday, Master Huang chose to stick to his post. "I have to be on duty from the first day to the sixth day." Master Huang said that their team has local colleagues in Hainan, and they all need to go home because of customs. "My wife and I have a holiday, but we live a simpler life, so we can work more and let our colleagues go home and have a good year." Master Huang also said that his wife is also going to work in her post during the Spring Festival holiday, because she works in a nursing home, and holidays are also the busiest time.

"This is my first time to participate in such a large-scale New Year’s Eve event. Since I have to be on duty during the Spring Festival, I will regard today as New Year’s Eve." Master Huang said that during his recent years in Hainan, he and his wife bought seafood and cooked it themselves, instead of going to restaurants outside. This activity not only allowed him to eat the New Year’s Eve dinner in advance, but also allowed him to get together with his rare colleagues, which made him feel that the busy year had been affirmed by everyone.
