Some citizens have recently reported to the Beijing Daily client that many checkpoints in Beijing are congested during the morning rush hour every day, sometimes for two or three hours.
The Beijing Daily reporter’s investigation found that,Drivers did not apply for the Beijing Pass in advance, trucks violated the law and it took a long time to show their identity documents, which became the important reasons for the congestion.Under the strategy of "external defense input and internal defense rebound", it is necessary to go to Beijing for inspection. Under the premise of ensuring epidemic prevention and control, it is necessary for everyone to work together to alleviate congestion.

Vehicles queuing at the checkpoint on Xu Yin Road have already reached Yanchao Bridge at the end of the queue.
Long queues of vehicles entering Beijing during the morning rush hour.
The owner is afraid to drive home.
"It takes 3 hours to get up at 5 o’clock in the morning and go to work."Ms. Wang, who lives in Gu ‘an County, Hebei Province and goes to work in Beijing every day, told reporters that she was late three times in a week because of the long waiting time in front of the checkpoint.
Ms. Wang now gets up an hour earlier than before the epidemic, but she still can’t guarantee that she will arrive at her post on time. The main reason is that when we enter Beijing from Gu ‘an, we have to pass through two checkpoints, the first is Gu ‘an checkpoint, and the second is Daxing Yufa checkpoint. It takes about one hour to pass through these two checkpoints.
She told reporters that there are many people working in Beijing in Gu ‘an, and everyone has encountered the same problem. In order to avoid being late for work, many people choose to park their cars in the open space outside the Yucai checkpoint, and then ride an electric car home every day."Ride from home to the toll booth the next morning, bypass the most blocked road section, then drive out from the open space next to the checkpoint, and then go to Beijing through the checkpoint, which can save twenty or thirty minutes." Ms. Wang said that hundreds of cars are parked on the ground outside the checkpoint every day.
Another reader with similar experience, Mr. Zhang, lives in Yanjiao, and the community is close to Yanchao Bridge. During the epidemic,He gets up at 5 o’clock every morning and drives to work. Although he leaves half an hour earlier than the epidemic, there is no guarantee that he will arrive near Guomao before 9 o’clock."The Gaogezhuang checkpoint on Xuyin Road only opens two ports at about 5: 40 in the morning, and vehicles in multiple lanes have to squeeze these two ports. About 1 km from Yanchao Bridge to the checkpoint is full of cars, and the traffic is very slow."
According to the situation reflected by readers, the reporter went to the scene to conduct a casing investigation. At 7 o’clock in the morning of May 7, in the direction of entering Beijing on the east side of Gaogezhuang Comprehensive Inspection Station, vehicles in several lanes moved slowly.Looking at the rear of the car, the Yanchao Bridge, about 1 km away, is full of cars.
All five checkpoints of the checkpoint have been opened. Dozens of meters away from the inspection port, several staff members are measuring the body temperature for the people in the car. The reporter found that there are at least two groups of staff at each checkpoint to verify the identity documents for the vehicle personnel entering the station, but because there are too many vehicles, there are still long queues. A driver said,It has been nearly 40 minutes since Yanjiao came out to the checkpoint. Once before, it took nearly one and a half hours to queue up.
In sharp contrast, in the northernmost lane, electric bicycles and motorcycles almost did not encounter traffic jams and passed smoothly. The checkpoint has specially opened a passage for these cyclists, and a special person will check their identity documents and take their temperature, and they will be released immediately after passing the test.A cyclist said, "It took less than 20 minutes to ride from Yanjiao, which was quite smooth."
Failure to apply for a Beijing permit and trucks are illegal
Affect the rapid passage
At 8: 00 a.m. on the 7th, the reporter came to Baimiao North Checkpoint on the old Jing-Yu line and saw many vehicles with foreign licenses parked on the north side of the road. Outside the window of a white tin house on the north side of the road, several men are waiting, and several traffic policemen are checking the vehicles not far away. A vehicle with Hebei license plate was guided to the side of the road by the traffic police. The traffic police took two blue notebooks from the driver and pointed to the white house next to it. It turned out that this car did not apply for a Beijing permit, and the traffic police asked the driver to go through the punishment procedures. The traffic police told the driver that vehicles were not allowed to enter Beijing without a Beijing Pass.
During the reporter’s stay for more than an hour, about dozens of cars were punished for not handling the Beijing Pass.Vehicles parked on the roadside are tens of meters long, and some drivers even park their cars at intersections 40 to 50 meters away.

There are many vehicles waiting for punishment parked outside the checkpoint.
In order to stop these vehicles without Beijing Pass, the traffic police had to walk to the middle of the road and wave to the driver to pull over. The vehicles behind them can only slow down, and this series of reactions,As a result, the vehicles leaving the checkpoint travel slowly and the traffic speed is greatly reduced.
There are three lanes in the direction of the checkpoint to Beijing, of which the northernmost lane can be used by large trucks.Compared with passenger cars, the speed of these large trucks passing through the inspection gate is much slower. After they pass through the inspection gate, a worker wearing a yellow vest with the words "environmental protection" written on it will wave to some of the big trucks to pull over. Other vehicles behind the van had to slow down and avoid, and then change lanes to pass. The reporter learned that,These trucks were stopped because Otawa’s environmental protection was not up to standard.
The reporter counted, for 10 minutes,There are three large trucks parked by the side. As they slow down, the vehicles behind them drive slowly, which also reduces the speed of vehicles leaving the station.
A traffic policeman told reporters that the driver needs to apply for a Beijing permit one day in advance, and it is impossible to apply for it that day.Being punished at the checkpoint itself will also affect the speed of other vehicles.Vehicles that have not applied for the Beijing Pass will be persuaded to return, and when the vehicles turn around and turn back, it will also increase the traffic pressure on the road. In addition, large trucks are overloaded or environmental protection is not up to standard. It is hoped that truck drivers will abide by traffic laws and avoid accidents due to their own reasons.
Procrastination in presenting documents
It takes half a minute more for each car.
The reporter also found a phenomenon that caused vehicles to pass through the checkpoint slowly, that is, the driver and passenger showed their identity documents for inspection.
In order to improve the traffic speed, the checkpoint is equipped with two or three groups of inspectors for each lane, with two or three people in each group, and two or three vehicles are inspected at the same time. However, the reporter found that the time of vehicles entering and leaving the station in each lane is not the same. The time difference between each car ranges from ten seconds to thirty or forty seconds.
The reporter randomly started to use the mobile phone stopwatch to time when a white car stopped at the checkpoint. The driver handed out the certificate, the staff took it and scanned it on the machine, then returned it to the driver, and the vehicle started to leave again. The whole process took only 7 seconds. In another adjacent passage, an off-road vehicle took 43 seconds, which was 36 seconds slower than that of a white car, from the time it entered the station to the time it showed its documents, and then the staff checked and inquired about the documents of other passengers in the car. Another driver bowed his head and rummaged in the car. It took more than 30 seconds to hand over the documents to the inspectors, and the vehicle in the other lane that entered the station with him had already left.
The reporter measured 10 cars, the shortest time was 6 seconds, and the longest time was more than 45 seconds. If the drivers and passengers prepare the relevant certificates in advance, the inspection time can be effectively shortened.
The staff at the checkpoint admitted that they are under great pressure at work now. A staff member of Gaogezhuang checkpoint said that the traffic entering the station every morning lasts from 5 o’clock to 11 o’clock. They are almost working at full capacity and have little time to drink water for a few hours on duty."Going to Beijing for inspection is an important measure for epidemic prevention and control. No matter how hard and tired we are, we must be loyal to our duties and carefully check everyone who enters the station."He suggested that drivers and passengers can prepare the documents that need to be inspected before passing through the checkpoint, try to shorten the inspection time and pass quickly.
