Mei Lantian is a wrestler with a pair of wrestling ears that have been deformed due to years of training and competition injuries. Guo Fucheng also took the initiative to design the buck tooth shape for the character, and initially chose from three sets of buck tooth models.

Before filming began, Guo Fucheng wore buck teeth at home to practice speaking his lines. "When you have to say something very explosive, the dentures will fly out, and there is no way to control it. It can’t be too tight, and I don’t feel comfortable being too tight. So I’m going to try how hard I should use to say those words."

Guo Fucheng had a commonly used Mandarin voice actor who provided Mandarin versions of his works, but he passed away due to illness.
