Karim benzema hit back at didier deschamps, saying that the French coach was dishonest about the Real Madrid striker leaving the World Cup squad.
Deschamps was interviewed by Le Parisien on Friday, describing Benzema’s thigh injury in training before the Qatar match and his exclusion from the squad.
Benzema’s agent had previously criticized Deschamps’ decision to send the players home. A source told him that Benzema thought he could have stayed in the team and participated in the game after he recovered.
“There is only one fact that Karim knows very well,” Deschamps told Le Parisien.
“Karim is very angry because the World Cup means a lot to him. He told me he was “dead” (after the scan confirmed that he was injured). In the best case, it is impossible for him to resume training before December 10.
“When I left him, I said to him,’ Carlin, don’t worry. Arrange for you to come back with the team coach “When I woke up, I realized that he had gone. This is his decision. ”
Later on Friday, Benzema responded on social media. In one of his articles, Deschamps’ words were shared, and he wrote “It’s really brave”, followed by a clown’s emoji, followed by another article, in which he wrote “Dear Didier, good night”, accompanied by a video clip, and a man repeatedly said the word “liar”.
The Golden Globe winner has been struggling with a series of injuries this season. One month before the World Cup, he only came off the bench for Real Madrid once, and finally failed to recover in time to participate in the World Cup.
This season, he has scored 11 goals in 15 of Madrid’s 25 La Liga matches, but missed Saturday’s game against Espanyol due to ankle problems.
Before returning to China in 2021, Benzema had not played for the French team for six years, because he was suspected of being involved in blackmailing his former teammate Matthew Val Buena and was excluded by Deschamps.
